Howling Hill's goat herd is made up of registered Nigerian Goats.  These
small goats have a huge range of color combinations and are extremely mild
tempered.  We believe in dam raising so we allow all of our goat babies to
nurse for a minimum of 8 weeks.

All of our animals get free choice mineral mix, baking soda and unlimited
fresh water from their large capacity tank with gravity fed nipple.

In 2006 we tested negative for Johnes and CAE.  In 2007 we tested negative
for Brucellosis and Tuberculosis.

Although they are not currently maintained  organically, we do use high
quality feed and locally grown hay and hope to possibly change to organic in
the future.  We use a weekly herbal dewormer treatment for all of our goats
and always try to use the most natural methods when other problems do
occur.  We want to be confident that our milk is safe, healthy and pure for
our customers and our own family.

We are in the journey of breeding our goats for superior milk production.
Our focus is not for showing like many other Nigerian Goat breeders, so we
are looking for goats with high fat and sweet milk.  We will soon be
participating in the DHI milk test.  This program is designed to help dairy
farms track milk production, to breed animals with higher quality dairy
character.
